Course description

This two-day foundational course supports professionals across sectors to build culturally sensitive, trauma-informed practices that foster safety, healing, and resilience. Participants will explore the neurobiology of trauma, gain practical tools to support trauma-impacted individuals, and learn how to prevent re-traumatisation in care and service environments. Ideal for those working in face-to-face roles, this course emphasises the PACE approach and strength-based survival strategies to ensure participants leave confident in creating empowering and secure environments.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Understand trauma and its short- and long-term impacts.
  • Gain insights into the neurobiological effects of trauma on the brain.
  • Learn to recognise trauma symptoms and behavioural patterns.
  • Apply trauma-informed frameworks to daily practice.
  • Build skills to prevent re-traumatisation and vicarious trauma.
