Cultivating Cultural Awareness & Understanding Trauma

Designed to provide those who work directly with Indigenous people, this workshop utilises an interactive, experiential learning model to enhance understanding of Indigenous culture. This one-day workshop will provide an understanding of the diversity of Indigenous culture and how history relates to the health and wellbeing of First Nations People.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Engage with Indigenous people in a culturally safe way.
• Understand the historical and cultural context of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Recognise the impact of colonisation and intergenerational trauma on Indigenous communities.
• Build skills to engage with cultural humility and respect in diverse workplace and community settings.
• Strengthen communication strategies when working with or alongside Aboriginal children, families, and colleagues.
• Gain confidence to foster inclusive and culturally safe environments.
